PDR's Questions Make Waves! CM Stalin's Video Out!

The chief minister, M.K. Stalin, posted a video of Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan asking a flurry of questions about the three-language strategy.

The federal government urges Palanivel Thiagarajan, PTR | The Tamil Nadu government adopted the new education strategy. The government of Tamil Nadu is specifically being told to embrace the trilingual strategy. The Tamil Nadu administration, however, has made it clear that the trilingual policy is unacceptable. The minister of information technology of Tamil Nadu, PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan, spoke with a private television network. It contains several queries he has made on the trilingual policy.

He stated in the PDR interview that Tamil Nadu has opposed the three-language policy for almost a century since the Justice Party took power.  Even in the 1930s, Tamil Nadu resisted the imposed use of the Hindi language.  A massive demonstration against the introduction of Hindi took place in the 1960s, and many people lost their lives in defence of the language.  Consequently, Tamil Nadu would never accept Hindi as a language.  Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s administration in Tamil Nadu is adamant about the state’s two-language policy.

The state lists education. As a result, the people’s chosen government has the authority to determine what should be taught.  That’s also what the Constitution says.  In Tamil Nadu, a single student can study any language, including Hindi.  There are no limitations.  We should be adamant, however, that we exclusively adhere to the multilingual policy of the popularly elected administration.  The reasons for this are the Tamil language’s evolution, preservation, and culture.  After taking that into account, a decision could be made.

What is the purpose of learning Hindi?  Because of the three-language policy, what progress have the northern states—such as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar—made?  Are they at least compliant with the two-language policy?  Use one state as an example to demonstrate how, by implementing the three-language policy, we have outperformed Tamil Nadu in education.  Next on our agenda is the three-language policy.  Why are you forcing the three-language policy upon us when Tamil Nadu, which adheres to the two-language policy, remains at the forefront of academia and other fields?

Introduce new technology-based science courses in place of the three languages already offered.  The field of artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding.  This can be incorporated into the curriculum.  For pupils’ development, this is the only actual worry.  In addition, he has raised several points, one of which is, “How is it fair for the central government to keep misleading Tamil Nadu, which is doing well, in areas like finances, without any precedent?”  Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of Tamil Nadu also posted this interview with Minister PDR Palanivel Thiagarajan on his X page.
