Saiyaara & Mahavatar Narsimha Dominate Weekend Shows

Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha are trending with good weekend bookings whereas Hari Hara Veera Mallu is failing at the box-office.

The hype about Hari Hara Veera Mallu has dissipated soon. Although on the first day of showing, there was an euphoria, audience interest drastically went down on the second day. Although the bookings picked up marginally on Saturday and Sunday, the long term visibility of the film remains doubtful in terms of box office.

In the meantime, another two films, the Hindi movie Saiyaara and the Telugu-dubbed feature Mahavatar Narsimha have catapulted as weekend attractions. Both films have seen strong advance bookings, drawing attention from different audience segments.

Saiyaara is slowly inching near to the mark of 500 Cr grossing with social media chatter and ticketing sales. The film, directed by Mohit Suri, features rather less popular actors yet has been able to charm the Gen Z and the younger generation due to its engaging storyline and soundtrack.

Mahavatar Narsimha on the other hand is becoming a word among families and children. The Telugu dubbing, the animation that is good, and the possibility to watch it in 3D viewing are making it an added attraction to watch it in the theater. It may be a familiar tale, but people are coming to enjoy the experience that the mythological story offers.

This is yet again an indication of the audience being ready to menace cinemas as long as the content is there. The films also have to provide quality storytelling and worth of the money and not turn to the stars and super hyping.
