Kashmir Conflict Athawale Pressures Modi for Action

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale demands India take PoK back, saying if Pakistan resists, declaring war may be the only remaining option for peace.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale made an outspoken request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seize control of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) while proposing that a war declaration against Pakistan may become necessary to settle this persistent dispute.

Longstanding Conflict Over Kashmir Continues

For several decades both India and Pakistan have continued a sustained conflict regarding Kashmir. The ownership dispute stands as a fundamental issue because Pakistan makes persistent attempts to obtain control of the area. Indian armed forces and their government currently carry out heavy defense operations to protect Kashmir from border security threats.

The world reacted with strong outrage to the recent terrorist attack

Terrorist operations against Pahalgam increased the security problems in Jammu and Kashmir region. Twenty-six innocent individuals died during the disastrous event. After harshly denouncing the violence, some nations showed their support for India.

India’s Strong Response to Pakistan

Moroccan security stepped up its surveillance following the combination of terrorist events with active armed conflicts. The Indian government has taken two main steps that involved blocking access to Indus River water from Pakistan and forcing Pakistani nationals out of Indian territory. By taking these actions India has pushed tensions toward an even higher state that increases the risk of bigger conflicts developing.

Athawale Receives Controversial Feedback About His Aggressive Move

Member of Parliament Athawale put forth a confrontational approach for national security that sparked extensive political discussions throughout that period. Speaking publicly, he stated,

“Terrorist attacks will continue as long as Pakistan maintains its unlawful occupation of Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government should act through a takeover of PoK territory. The government should initiate declarations of war against Pakistan if it fails to surrender the territory.”

Backlash and Protests Over War Rhetoric

The public received strong attention from Athawale’s statements. Some people view the reaction as a democratic expression of nationalism yet others have begun to protest and criticize this development. Since they favor diplomatic methods over military action, a number of specialists express concerns about the potential for the development of complete combat circumstances.
